Voicemail
Packet8's personalized voicemail permits you to record an outgoing message for callers to hear when you are unable to answer an incoming call. Voicemail messages include a timestamp so you can determine the time of the call.

Voicemail to Email Notification
Packet8 subscribers also receive an email notification when a caller has left a voicemail message. The message is attached as an audio file which can be forwarded to others or saved for future reference.

Local Number Porting (LNP)
For most numbers, we can port your number in as little as 8 calendar days from receiving the order with all correct information and documentation. Toll free number portability generally takes two to five weeks. During the process, you can view your number portability status and updates by logging into your Self Service Portal account.

Choose Your Area Code
Packet8 allows you to choose a phone number from any of the available rate centers, regardless of where your Packet8 phone will be physically located. Subscribers can request a rate center that is local to those who call them the most. Rate center selection does not affect your Packet8 calling rates.

Caller ID with Name
Caller ID with Name allows Packet8 subscribers to view an incoming caller's name and phone number on the telephone display screen prior to answering the call. This feature will only work on phones equipped with caller ID capability. In addition, when making a call using your Packet8 service, your phone number and name are sent along with your call so the recipient can identify you.

Caller ID Blocking
You can prevent your phone number from being displayed by using Caller ID Blocking, a feature that is managed online from a subscriber's account page.

Call Waiting/Call Waiting Disable
Call Waiting allows callers to reach you even when you are on the phone with another call. You will hear a beep indicating an incoming call. You will then be able to put your current caller on hold and answer the new call. You can continue to alternate between parties as often as you'd like. It's like having two lines while paying for only one.

Call Waiting ID
Call Waiting ID allows your phone to display the number of another caller during an actual call. Call Waiting must be enabled for Call Waiting ID to display. This feature requires that you have a telephone with built-in Caller ID capability and a display or an external Caller ID box with a display.

Call Return
Call Return is a service that allows you to automatically call back the last incoming call without having to dial the number.

Call Forwarding
Call Forwarding allows you to forward all incoming calls to a different phone number, such as your home, friend's house, office or cell phone.

Call Blocking
Call Blocking allows you specify incoming numbers that are not allowed to call you, and outgoing numbers that you do not want to have called from your phone. This feature is easily managed and updated from your subscriber account page.

Three-way Calling
Three-way calling allows you to create an instant conference call between yourself and two other parties.

Online Account Management/Billing
Packet8's Online Account Management and Billing lets you view, automatically pay and analyze your billing statements via your online account page. This is a convenient way for you to view an itemized call history of both inbound and outbound calls. You can also view current and previous invoices, billing and charge summaries, monthly usage summary, and payment history. In addition, Packet8's online account self service portal allows you to manage the configuration of your Packet8 account including voicemail settings and call forwarding rules.

Do Not Disturb
The Do Not Disturb (DND) feature allows you to disable your phone from receiving incoming calls. If your Packet8 voicemail is enabled while the DND feature is activated, all incoming calls will go directly to your voicemail. DND can be activated by simply dialing *78 and deactivated by dialing *79.

Anonymous Call Blocking
Callers who block their identity to avoid being screened by caller ID. Anonymous Call Blocking can be enabled to send incoming calls directly to your voicemail. A modified dial tone is presented to indicate when anonymous call blocking is enabled. Simply dial *77 to activate this service and *87 to deactivate.

Phone-Based Call Management
In addition to online account management, Packet8 subscribers have the option of modifying feature settings by phone including voicemail password, number of rings and call settings.

Follow Me, Find Me
Packet8's Follow Me, Find Me is a call hunting feature that allows you to enter up to five phone numbers to ring in sequence. For example, you can enter your mobile phone number as well as your office phone number to ring when your Packet8 home number is not answered. When a call comes in and you are not at home, the call will cease to ring on the Packet8 home number (after ringing the assigned number of times) and then move on to ring the mobile phone. Then if there is no response there, the call moves on to ring your office number. If there is still no answer, the call can then be guided to your voicemail box.

Simultaneous Ring
The Simultaneous Ring feature permits an incoming phone call to ring not only your Packet8 number, but also a standard PSTN number along with any other Packet8 number(s) simultaneously.

7-Digit Local Dialing
In most cases, Packet8 subscribers can make local phone calls without dialing an area code, unless you have multiple telephone area codes within the same geographical area (area code overlays). In these cases, you should dial 10 digits just as you would on a traditional telephone line.

Network Unavailable Forwarding
If, for some reason, your Internet connection goes down, you will lose Packet8 phone service until your Internet connection is restored. However, you won't lose callers as they can be automatically forwarded to any other number (like a cell phone) that you have pre-programmed. Directory Assistance Listing
Packet8 gives you the option to add your company name and telephone number to a Directory Assistance Listing provider. This information will be maintained by a nation-wide database listing provider which will allow more accessibility to your company information.

Additional Packet8 Features
Features not included with the monthly service fee

Enhanced 911
Packet8 "Enhanced" 911 (E911), a government mandated service, automatically routes calls and computer-based "screen pops" of caller information to emergency personnel at local Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs). Because Packet8's E911 call data is routed as emergency traffic and is accompanied by E911 caller information, callers receive the same response from emergency personnel that they are accustomed to receiving from legacy, switched telecommunications 911 services provided by traditional telephone carriers.
